Hi. I am a newbie, have just started to test with DeviceAnywhere? I am just curious why ARO has to be used together with DeviceAnywhere Studio. Is it for business reason? Is it possible to run ARO directly on a real device to capture trace data? If so, where to obtain the apk file? Does AT&T sell it? Please let me know. Thanks.

Yxin,
At this time, the ARO apk is not available for download. The current version of the tool requires a rooted device, and AT&T does not support the rooting of phones, as it voids your warranty.
We are in the process of working with OEMs to allow ARO to run on non-rooted handsets.

Doug,
Is the only way to perform benchmark testing for applications is to use the DeviceAnywhere tool? How do I get access to that?Pardon my ignorance as I just started playing with ARO and I've taken traces using Android emulator. I need to test an application performance on a real operator network and results from an emulator doesn't reflect true results.
