AT&T Mobile App Hackathon – Toronto Recap

0

There was a lot of excitement for our second international hackathon (first in Canada), with over 100 attendees making their way to MaRS in Toronto, Ontario! The weather was great, and so were the applications that developers spent nearly two days furiously coding.

A big thank you goes out to our friends Northof41.org and Lemonade Ventures along with our sponsors, that helped make this event possible and a special thanks to TribeHR who provided assistance with SSH.

Our first hackathon in Toronto definitely did not disappoint. We started out Friday night by kicking around some excellent ideas and engaging with local developers to find out what they are passionate about. One of the most interesting ideas we saw was from The Shop Society, a group working on a SaaS platform for fashion sales associates. The service provides recommendations and allows associates to assist customers remotely, providing boutiques the opportunity to greatly expand their businesses without large expenses.

Here are all of the teams in no particular order:

Fit With Friends - 1st Place Overall, Best mHealth App, and 1st Place TiggziAn app using AT&T mHealth APIs that helps promote daily fitness, through friendly competition within your peer group.
