Why Brew?

The Brew programming environment is one of the application platforms contained in the Brew Mobile Platform (BMP) for which AT&T has recently announced support.

 

Brew is already an established application platform on a large swath of devices in the market and is known for its robustness and superior performance. This is accomplished by giving developers direct access to the underlying hardware instead of going through a virtual machine like some other well know application platforms.

 

By using Brew on AT&T quick messaging devices which support the Brew Mobile Platform, developers can avoid the porting problem as there should be virtually no fragmentation within these devices.
