This last weekend was a big first of many to come. Our hackathons have come a long way since the early days of 2011 and we thank our developers for sticking with us all the way. The AT&T Developer Program worked with AT&T Sustainability and the Environmental Defense Fund this last weekend at TechCrunch Disrupt to challenge developers to build an app that gives buildings a water conservation effenciency score, similar to that of Klout. 

Are you passionate about doing good for society and helping others with your technical skills? This week, the AT&T Developer Program, AT&T Sustainability and Environmental Defense Fund are issuing a challenge to developers participating in TechCrunch Disrupt 2013 to build an open sourced app that helps drive water efficiency for buildings.

Currently...

• 32% of the combined money flowing into app stores went to developers of the top 100 ranked apps.
• Smartphone applib cations generated a total of $5.4 billion across premium, in-app purchase and advertising revenue.
• Advertising made up 18% of the revenue in 2011.
