As we log into 2013, I would like to share some best practices for using APIs.  Kicking off the year with Speech, I'll be posting a multi-part segment on using the Speech APIs and how best to provide a rich experience to the users of your applications.

Exciting news!  Registration is now open for the 2012 DevLab by AT&T.  DevLab is a one day hands-on programming workshop focused on helping developers build advanced communications into mobile applications, as well as optimize mobile apps to make the most of battery life and data bandwidth.  Attendees will be introduced to the new Speech API that is part of the AT&T API Platform, as well as the Application Resource Optimizer (ARO) which analyzes mobile application efficiency.

Last week marked the launch of a powerful new API on the AT&T API Platform.

We’re happy to introduce the Speech API, powered by the AT&T WATSON℠ speech engine.

API growth continues at a blistering pace--and AT&T is contributing to this with our new speech API.

Registration is still open for tomorrow’s webcast about our soon to be released Speech API. In this webcast we will introduce you to the API, show off some of the basic functionality, and teach you how to use it to voice enable your app. The first Speech APIs will focus on seven areas: web search, business search, question and answer, voice mail to text, SMS, U-verse® electronic programming guide, and a generic API for general use of speech recognition.
