Happy new year to everyone.  One resolution for me will be to publish the blog regularly (but no promises).  2008 was a remarkable year for changes in wireless industry and there is every expectation that 2009 will be the same way.  Our last newsletter covered the highlights of last year.  We make every effort to meet community through a variety of events and provide new content, with over 20 webcasts and 7 whitepapers, and want to keep this up in future to give developers the information you want. 2009 is already off to an exciting start.  Most of audience I am sure has heard about introduction of Palm webOS.  Unfortunately, we have no news or guidance from AT&T on our future device plans based on this, but like most technology and mobile fans, I think they did a really nice job here, particularly with Synergy  (that pulls calendar and contacts from different sources).  The good news for developers is that Palm has levering existing coding standards and said that they will have access to different layers.  Look to devCentral and our newsletter as anything changes here. Another exciting development at CES was around wireless charging (I need to thank a partner Bill who I met with earlier today for reminding me of the significance of this one).  This technology has been kicking around for a couple of years, but seems to be ready for primetime now, with big impacts to enterprise and all mobile users.  So what can you expect from devCentral this year?  We have scheduled some of our first webcasts on Antenna development and on IBM.  Later in quarter we will do some on NetBiscuits (to provide guidance to those interested in creating mobile web pages) and Oracle (starting with how to use embedded DB, then another looking at tools).  We plan to have a healthcare-focused vertical page.  We will be at some events (hopefully EclipseCon, definitely CTIA).  We will also have update on WRA, with some good additions from our enterprise architecture team.  Then additionally, hopefully some provocative, helpful blogs. For personal section, I am going back to my favorite pastime, television.  The year is off to a great start there as well.  The new season of 24 is one of the best ones yet, really compelling.  Flight of the Conchords is back, which is a funny show if you have not seen it.  American Idol is obviously back, with a new good judge and I think a better focus on good singers rather than bad singers faking it to get on TV.  Then Lost premiers next week and looks really tremendous.  I will have my predictions for American Idol, Amazing Race, and Survivor in future.  In case I do not blog in time for Superbowl, my prediction is Arizona 20, Pittsburgh 16 (and before you go off to Vegas and bet a lot on this, please review some of my dismal predictions in the past- only 5 of 12 playoff teams, with a Dallas vs. Indianapolis Superbowl).
