We have a hardware device that performs management and control of remote (and usually unmanned) locations.
There are a number of ways to connect with the remote device, most commonly Ethernet/TCP-IP.
We have successfully connected with it using GPRS using a MutiTech modem and an account with Rodgers in Canada.
I want to start testing here in the US, and am trying to find out what type of ATT account that I would need to sign up for. (ATT is a registered service provider for MultiTech)
My problem is that for the majority of the time I will be using SMS for communicating with the device, both sending requests and receiving responces.
However I also want the ability to hit the remote device with a broadband connection at need. (perhaps to reset something that is not pre programmed to work with the SMS connection.
Does ATT offer an account that provides for both SMS and wideband connectivity?
